Ann Wright, a retired army colonel and official of the State Department, was one of three US officials to publicly resign in direct protest of the invasion of Iraq in March, 2003. Since then, she has been a prominent antiwar activist. Wright has engaged in civil disobedience and faced arrest on multiple occasions in an effort to draw attention to the illegal war abroad and our endangered civil liberties at home.

Wright will read from her book Dissent: Voices of Conscience: Government Insiders Speak Out Against the War in Iraq at Firestorm Cafe & Books, a recently established community event space downtown. The reading will be followed by a participatory reading.
